2019 Festival

REPERTOIRE REQUIREMENTS

All music must be performed by memory. Participants will perform one piece without repeats. The time limit for each piece is 6 minutes.

Participation in the 2019 Festival is open to pianists and all instrumentalists (strings,woodwinds,brass).

Pianists may perform any piece, fantasia or Sonata movement by Mozart or other classical composer.

Instrumentalists may perform any piece by any classical composer.

Rules

    • Students up to 18 years old may participate.
    • Applications may be submitted online or by mail. All application fees must be in the form of checks payable to Karina Burch. Mail your check and application (if not submitted online) to:

    • SCYMF does not provide accompanists. Teachers may not be accompanists to their own students.
    • Students may not present photocopied music to the judges.
    • All fees are not refundable. 

    Age categories are:

    CATEGORY A: 4-5 years old.
    CATEGORY B: 6-8 years old.
    CATEGORY C: 9-10 years old

    CATEGORY D: 11-12 years old.
    CATEGORY E: 13-14 years old
    CATEGORY F: 15-16 years old
    CATEGORY G: 17-18 years old


    AWARDS

    Judges will select a first, second and third place winner from each category.Winners and Honorable Mentions will be announced immediately following the completion of each category. Awards will be presented to all winners at that time. Each contestant will receive a Certificate of Participation for his/her performance.
